The ex-Cocteau Twin's Robin Guthrie joins ex-Ultravox John Foxx to create an out-of-the-box album. All the usual reference points are here, so I guess it's time to throw in words like lush, ethereal and hypnotising... How about ambient? Layers of echoes and reverberations are explored on Mirrorball, so that Guthrie’s unique playing merges with abstract, often improvised vocals of Foxx.
